Harry Potter

Harry Potter is a series of books that was later turned into movies. Written by British Author J. K. Rowling the books have gained immense publicity since they first came out. The first book Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone was published on June 30, 1997. There are a total of seven books in the series, after Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, comes Harry Potter and the Chamber of secrets, then Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, then Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, then Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, then Harry Potter and the Half-Blood prince, and finally Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. The stories are about a young wizard and his two friends, Ronald Weasley and, Hermione Granger that attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Throughout the books Harry has to fight off the dark lord, Lord Voldemort who wants to take over the Wizard World and become immortal. He wants to kill Harry because when Harry was a baby Voldemort accidentally gave him one of his "souls" and for him to become immortal he needs to find all of the parts that have been dispersed throughout the Wizard World. Rowling says that the idea for Harry Potter came to her when she was on a crowded train from Manchester to London and the idea just "fell into her head." In 1998 J. K. Rowling sold the rights to film in 1998 but the movie wasn't released until November 15, 2002. Daniel Radcliffe was chosen to play Harry and has done so for all the movies.
